ENGINEER: Spinning Death OC Part 1: Pre-U34

[Time Codes of Primary Events in Description] This is a good demonstration of the SPINNING DEATH Overclock for the Engineer's Breach Cutter taken before Update 34 with a build that uses persistent plasma and single line instead of triple split from the standard tier mods. I had only tried it once twice before, so it was time to buckle up and give it the Haz 5 treatment and see what I could do with it. SPINNING DEATH causes your plasma beam to spin rapidly and advance slowly creating a circle of death for your enemies at the expense of a massive reduction in Damage Per Second and much reduced ammo. Part 2 of the demonstration will be an Update 34 from Experimental with the increased damage and slightly different build.

Don't be frightened by the low damage stats (pre or post U34) on this though because the beam moves so slowly that it just consistently deals damage to all the targets anywhere near it and the net damage it deals is substantially better than the classic straight breach. So what are the drawbacks? Well, ammo of course, but it's manageable. Even though this has an even lower count than the Pre-U34 INFERNO overclock, you're getting more for your money. But the really bad drawback is the range. Basically, the beam moves so slowly for the 7 seconds or so it persists that you better pick where you aim it well, it's only going to travel a few meters, so no more using breach to take out those spitters on the ceiling or spitballers 30 meters away. It's because of this that I paired the Stubby Voltaic with this, so I had some range options. Stubby with electrical and stun just felt better than going with a choke build or something else on shottie. But you can probably make either work.

Now to note most Engineers, myself included use the triple split line on Breach Cutter on mod Tier 5. I tested it in a couple of runs and decided that Plasma Trails that leave behind a damage field after the beam is gone was the choice I wanted to go with.

My verdict. I think this is an underused overclock honestly. It performed much better than I expected including dealing some continuous damage to the Bulk Det that showed up in this solo demonstration. Stay tuned for Part 2 of Spinning Death.
