ENGINEER: Pack Rat, Magnetic Pellet Alignment & "It's a Bug Thing"

This demonstration is for the PACK RAT overclock for Engi's PGL and MAGNETIC PELLET ALIGNMENT for Warthog Shotgun. And for the heck of, let's use the IT'S A BUG THING perk, the unfairly scorned passive perk that I believe delivers a true service to players in at least one mission type: ON-SITE REFINING. And it DOES deliver in OSR missions.

PACK RAT for the Deepcore 40ML Grenade Launcher is just a plain and simple +2 ammo bump for a weapon that has many OCs that wildly swing between weighting damage, ammo and area of effect. So if you just like plain old PG, this gives you just a bit more of it. Everything about it makes it appropriate at all hazard levels. For this build I fleshed it out with more AOE, more Ammo and Armor Break on tiers 1-3, pluse MORE Area of Effect and my standard Proximity Trigger on tier 5. Basically a can't go wrong overclock and a can't go wrong build.

MAGNETIC PELLET ALIGNMENT for the Warthog Auto shotgun is a balanced overclock that increases your base spread a bit gifts you an additional 30% Weak Point damage and a faster rate of fire. Overall, not my most favored OC for the weapon, but serviceable and incredibly popular among many players. I built this out with increased rate of fire on tier 1, CHOKE for better accuracy on tier 2, better reload, increased damage and full auto on tiers 3-5. The weakpoint damage is great here, but I'm not a big fan of it in swarms because you have to land your grunt face shots pretty cleanly, and to be clear "ACCURACY" is NOT my middle name.

IT'S A BUG THING - Let's talk about one of the most hated perks in the game by most experienced players. What's the point? Why? I used to think it was a bit of novelty overclock, but over the last few months, especially on the solo side of my play time I began realize it has a tremendous service to offer if for nothing else in ON-SITE REFINING missions. For those that haven't noticed, OSR missions have an incredibly dense spawning of loot bugs and the nitra you get from them is critical. Couple that with the fact that you have to spend a ton of time doing things that take your focus away from collecting nitra already (building pipes, etc) just saving that time is incredibly valuable. The only thing that I missed dearly was taking BORN READY auto reload out of the build to put in BUG THING, and it did catch me in a couple of hot situations.
